He was predeceased by: his parents, Elgia Edwin and Lena Meade (Combs); and his siblings, Leighton, Gordan Meade, Marvel Cooper (Buddy), Ann Green (Dick), Frances Waring (Darryl), Iris Dennison, Bette Simpson (Ronnie) and Cathie Cannady (Neal).
He is survived by: his wife Karen Meade of Newton; his children, Tom Meade (Paula) of Newton and Donna Meade (Mark Yaple) of Iowa City; his granddaughters, Stephanie Gott (Ryan) and Kara Meade; and his great grandchildren, Emma Gott, Ava Gott, Grady Gott and Lincoln Gannaway. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
