He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Olson and Maxine Olson (Biggerstaff); and his siblings-in-law, Michael Marchese, Russell Romano and Marlene Olson.
He is survived by: his wife Pamela Olson of Newton; his son Jon Olson (Kate) of Atlantic; his granddaughters, Keira Olson and Olivia Olson; his siblings, JoAnn Goodale (Eugene), Sandra Marchese, Clayton Olson, Kathy Romano, Beth Duerre (Robert), Sidney Olson (Diane) and Jeffrey Olson (Joan); and his siblings-in-law, Susan Tesmer (Dallas) and Greg Mix. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
