He is survived by: his parents, Smith Hicks and Margaret Hicks (Davis); his wife Donna Barnes-Hicks of Newton; his children, Emily Hicks and Aaron Hicks; his siblings, Karen Howard (Bill) of Urbandale, Laurie Hicks of Des Moines and Mark Hicks (Sally) of Des Moines; and his nieces, Amberly Howard, Crystal Howard, Matthew Howard and Liam Howard.
