It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Merrill Speas of Newton, Iowa, born in Nevada, Iowa, who passed away on May 2, 2021, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Speas and Goldie Speas (Clark); and his grandson Samuel Speas. He is survived by: his wife Lois Speas of Newton; his sons, Clinton Speas (Barbara) of Mesa and Benjamin Speas (Dru) of Sandy, Utah; and his siblings, Jerrold, Joyce and Marie. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
