With solemn reverence, we commemorate Mary Kathryn Katie Jones of Newton, Iowa, whose life came to an end on February 22, 2025 at the age of 90, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest L. Bleakney and Bessie M. Bleakney (Preston); her husband Harry Jones; her brother Robert Bleakney; and her sisters-in-law, Karen Bleakney and Nikki Bleakney.
She is survived by: her children, Chuck Jones (Laura) of New Virginia, Rob Jones (Christy) of Port Orchard, WA and Susan Edwards (Randy) of Urbandale; her grandchildren, Alex Jones, Veronica McVay (Kyle), Andrew Jones (Alissa), Victoria Zimmerman (Michael), Alisha Dittmer, Charles Van Der Woodsen (Zane), Olivia Hennings (Tanner) and Christopher Jones (Adriane); her great grandchildren, Avery Jones, Maverick, Jettie McVay, Mason Jones, Theo and Lincoln Zimmerman; and her brother John Bleakney (Shirley Crane). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Luke United Methodist Church (308 E 2nd St N, Newton, IA 50208).
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the St. Luke United Methodist Women can be left at the church on the day of the service or at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Newton.
