He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Modlin and Mary Modlin (Ramsey); and his siblings, Loy, William Oliver, Hoy and Vernon.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Modlin of Newton; his children, Kevin Modlin (Bonnie) of Columbia, Galen Modlin (Lori) of Newton and Kristi Brock (Joe) of Monroe; his grandchildren, Stephanie Olson (Cody), Alex Modlin (Chelsie), Josi Arguello, Jared Modlin (Megan), Joseph Brock, Ragan Brock (Mallory) and Will Brock; his great grandchildren, Brayden, Kinsley, Kamden, Rylan, Jagger, Jersey, Ty, Kamryn, Zayvier, Emerysn, Jackson and Ronin; and his siblings, Faye Clark, Elmer Modlin (Judy), Jim Modlin (Linda) and Bob Modlin (Marla). He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
