He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Howard and Buelah Howard (Livingston); his wife Darlyne Howard; his grandson Steve Howard; and his sisters, Doris Daines, Marcella Obermeier and Elizabeth Piper.
He is survived by: his children, Gary Howard (Diana May) of Newton, Donna Fisher (Bob) of Johnston, Dee Rochford of Des Moines, Steve Howard (Lelah) of Longview and Darla Stewart (Matt) of Springfield, Missouri; his sisters, Betty Hammond of Grinnell and Claudia Davis (Jerry) of Grinnell; and his sister-in-law Frances Callis of Altoona. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Luke United Methodist Church (501 E 19th St N, Newton, IA 50208). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Iowa River Hospice or the Moose Lodge may be left at the church the day of the service or at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.
