Kenneth Dean Van Veen Obituary

We are sad to announce that on March 9, 2024, at the age of 82, Kenneth Dean Van Veen of Newton, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John Veen and Gladys Van Veen (Verwers); his wife Sheryl Van Veen; and his brother Dennis Van Veen. He is survived by: his children, Lisa Van Ryswyk (Bob) of Monroe, Laurie Boell of Monroe and Ryan Van Veen of Waukee; his stepchildren, Kelly Helm (Gary) of Ames and Rich Hunt of Newton; his grandchildren, Logan Van Veen (Cassandra Adamson), Dayton Boell (Haley Morey), Gatlin Boell, Andrew Van Ryswyk and Abby Van Ryswyk; his stepgrandchildren, Kelsey Cox (Marty Ackerman), Autumn Burton (Levi), Christian Simmons, Abbey Hunt, Claire Hunt and Annie Hunt; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Amelia and Sam Burton; his brothers, Dave Van Veen (Diana) and Duane Van Veen; his sister-in-law Donna Van Veen; his in-laws, Donita Carpenter (Dave), Mary Lou Villafaerte, Ruby Vebon and Karen Vermillion; and the mother of his children Kathy Van Veen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Kenny's name be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project.
