Vander Schel, Afton Karns (Jon), Colton Beyer, Jacey Beyer, Gage Longacre and Kamden Longacre; his great grandchildren, Jonny and Jett Karns; his siblings, Cynthia Poots (Jerry) of Newton, Burt Vander Schel (Suzie) of Newton, Marilyn Johnson (Chuck) of Fort Dodge, Ron Vander Schel (Mary Kaye) of Newton and Bruce Vander Schel (Beth) of Iowa City; and his significant other Arlene Van Voorhis. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
