Henry Van Elsen Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Henry Van Elsen of Newton, Iowa, born in Colfax, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 28, 2024 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucien Elsen and Dorothy Van Elsen (Ellsworth); and his brother Robert Van Elsen. He is survived by: his wife Linda Van Elsen of Newton; his children, Charles Van Elsen of Newton and Mary Van Elsen (Bob Patton) of Newton; his siblings, Lucien Van Elsen (Karen), Jean Wallace (Max), Helen Reitan (John Grannis), James Van Elsen (Beth), Lynda Brouwer (Denny) and Larry Van Elsen (Kim Dingman); and his sister-in-law Connie Van Elsen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the First Assembly of God Church (1029 E 19th St N, Newton, IA 50208). Visitation was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Newton First Assembly of God Church or the National Kidney Foundation may be left at the church the day of the service or the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.
