She was predeceased by: her parents, John and Aleida Brouwer (Van De Vis); her husband Bastian Vander Velden; her sons, Gary and Roger Vander Velden; and her siblings, Gertrude Willemsen (Jeff), Martha Willemsen (Joe), Hank "Henry" (Charlotte), Arnold (Velma), Allen, Garrett and John William Brouwer (Bertha).
She is survived by: her son Marvin Vander Velden (Melinda) of Pleasant Hill; her daughter-in-law Betty Vander Velden of Galesburg; her brother Wilford "Bill" Brouwer (LaVonne) of Melbourne, Florida; her sisters-in-law, Lois Brouwer of Van Buren and Darlene Brouwer of Prairie City; and her grandchildren, Terry Vander Velden (Terri) of Oskaloosa, Kent Vander Velden (Melinda) of Johnston, Angela Veenstra (Darrell) of Lynnville, Marc Vander Velden (Erin) of Urbandale, Eric Vander Velden (Malissa Munger) of Newton, Carrie Bonnett of Des Moines and Felicia Vander Velden of Altoona. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
