He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Herbert and Mary J. Hodge, Sr. (Jackson); his wife Elsie Dobbs; his brothers, Kenneth Hodge and David "Tommy" Hodge; and his son-in-law Garry Shives.
He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Shives of Newton and Donna Clement of Newton; his grandchildren, Shawn Wolfe (Melanie Claussen Lamb), Heather Stier, Charity Stier-Braaksma (Justin) and Faith Repp (Thad); his great grandchildren, Brooke Moore (Aiden), Serenity Bookout (Cameron), Hannah Spangenburg (West), Micah Stier (Emma Van Cleave), Nevaeh Beener (Wyatt), Liberty Repp, Londyn Repp and Drake Repp; his great great grandchildren, Jaxton Bookout, William Spangenburg and Luella Bookout; and his sister Mary Elizabeth Findling of Kirksville.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory (1115 E 19th St N, Newton, IA 50208-2539). A graveside service was held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 at 11:45 AM at the Newton Union Cemetery (1600 W 4th St N, Newton, IA 50208).
