He was predeceased by: his parents, Beryl Gymer and Gurtha Gymer (Brown); his parents-in-law, Harry Jr. and Evelyn Olesen; his siblings, Doyle Gymer, Donna Wagner and Nicodemus (Paul); his siblings-in-law, Bill Wagner and Glenda Olesen; and his pet Spike.

He is survived by: his wife Connie Olesen of Newton; his children, Scott Gymer (Hannah) of Greenfield, Deanna Greving (Joe) of Johnston, Jana Koch (Jason) of Bettendorf and Shawn Gymer (Amanda) of Grimes; his grandchildren, Amber Godwin (Brandon), Justin Gymer, Courtney Gymer, Baylee (Tyler Kress), Brix Carstens (Jackson), Parker Greving, Ava Greving, Grace Koch, Lily Gymer and Mabel Gymer; his great grandchildren, Adalynn Godwin and Lincoln Godwin; his brother Gary Gymer (Diane) of Battle Creek, MI; and his siblings-in-law, Mike Olesen of Omaha, Nick Olesen of Coon Rapids and Marcia Gymer of Coon Rapids. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the Dahn & Woodhouse Funeral Home - Coon Rapids (518 Main St, Coon Rapids, IA 50058). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
