He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Pleines and Bertha Pleines (Schultz); his wife Mary Alyce Scarbrough (Paul); his son Norman; and his siblings, Ida Pleines, Elsie Pleines, Frieda Pleines, Ruth Wittmuss, Ella Thomas and Adolph Pleines.
He is survived by: his son Robert Pleines (Joyce) of Lincoln, Nebraska; his stepdaughter Linda Davies (Lonnie) of Newton; and his stepgrandchildren, Rhondi Machin, Chad Machin (Tammy) and Robin Sly (Rich). He is also survived by many great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
