She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Bascom and Albia Zinfer Bascom. She is survived by: her husband Gerald Carpenter of Newton; her children, Larry Carpenter (Joy) of Tinley Park, Illinois, Cathy Wignall (Mike) of Newton and Barb Bussman (Ben) of Genoa, Illinois; and her brother Vernon Bascom of Vinton.

In lieu of sending flowers to the family, they request memorials be mailed to Wesley Life Hospice, 4328 114th St., Urbandale, IA 50131.
