He is survived by: his wife Kathy Patterson (Fox) of Newton; his children, Franz Patterson (Jennifer) of Newton, Silvia Patterson of Newton, Shirley Johnson (Jerry) of Runnells and Kathy Hopman of Newton; his grandchildren, Christopher Johnson (Elizabeth), Emily Hopman and Sara Ohlfest (Jason); his great grandchildren, Julia, Cameron, Preston, Elliott and Everett; his stepchildren, Michael Hasstedt of Las Vegas, Randy Hasstedt of Georgetown and Julie Meenan (Brian) of Henderson, Nevada; his stepgrandchildren, Logan and Ellie Meenan; his sister Jane Grimm of Newton; his friend Jim Jones; and his pet Tootsie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
