He was predeceased by: his parents, John Harvey and Hesther M. Johns (Myers); his wife Rachel Galvan; his siblings, Guy Johns, Mary Anderson and Helen Sarra; and his nephew Harold Guy-Johns.

He is survived by: his children, Beverly Johns of Chicago, IL and David Johns of Peoria.
