He is survived by: his children, Robert Lane of Altoona, Mary Douds (Jim) of Marshalltown and Tom Lane (Dana) of Vinton; his daughter-in-law Connie Lane of Newton; his grandchildren, Robyn Taylor, Stephanie Douds Schwabe, Ryan Lane, Eric Lane, Justin Douds, Jon Lane and Jenna Lane; his great grandchildren, Hannah Miller, Halie Owens, Lane Schwabe, Cole Lane, Brooke Lane, Aubrey Douds and Samantha Douds; his great great grandchildren, Kinser Miller and Gracelyn Miller; his sister-in-law Marge Lane; and his close friends, Charlie Gundrum and Eula Dieterich. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
