He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hunt and Marcella Hunt (Scheyer); his daughter Gloria; his siblings, Clyde Hunt (Dorothy), Bob Hunt, Virgil Hunt, Isabelle Takes (Paul), Louis Callahan and Russell Hunt; and his in-laws, Carl Quint, Clarence Schemmel, Clara Ernzen and Gerald Ernzen.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Mae Ernzen; his children, Roger Hunt (Tammy) of Des Moines, Shirley Hunt of Dubuque, Lloyd Hunt of New York, Don Hunt (Laura) of Derby and Lois Holmes (Rich) of Grinnell; his great grandchildren, Samantha of Chariton, Courtney of Iowa Falls, Jamie of Dubuque, Payton of New York, Christine (Adam), Greta, Cora of Wauwatosa, WI, Cindy of Des Moines, Kenneth and Evelyn of Des Moines; his in-laws, Lavonne Callahan of Cascade, Norb Hunt (Josephine) of Monticello, Ralph Hunt (Gertie) of Cascade and Rachel Budden (Donald) of Petersburg; and his sisters-in-law, Carlyn Hunt of Edgewood, Kathleen Hunt of Hopkinton and Geraldine Ernzen of Marion. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A prayer will be held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Reiff Funeral Home (894 Peosta St, Peosta, IA 52068). Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, February 3rd 2025 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Holy Family Catholic Church (16318 Holy Family Ln, Peosta, IA 52068).
