He was predeceased by: his parents, Alton Hill and Ruth Hill Appleby; and his stepfather Delmar Appleby. He is survived by: his wife Eileen of Des Moines; his daughters, Carrie Hill of Des Moines and Debbie Hill of Des Moines; his grandchildren, Noah Stanton, Georgia Hill, Paige Hill, Ariana Floyd and Easton Nittler; and his sister Susan Anderson (Tom) of Newton.
