He was predeceased by: his parents, Eulalia Holmquist (McCormick) and Paul Holmquist; and his stepson Jim Hutchins. He is survived by: his sister Linda Holmquist (Norm Klocke) of Topeka, Kansas; his friend Victoria Hutchins of Johnston; his stepdaughter Laura Leon (Andrew) of Urbandale, Iowa; and his stepgrandchildren, Mia, Reese Rand and Austin Leytham. He is also survived by stepson, stepdaughter, two step granddaughters and a step grandson.
Memorials may be given in Calvin's name to the First United Methodist Church of Newton Iowa, the Jasper County Historical Society or the Newton Iowa Public Library.
