We are sad to announce that on March 19, 2021, at the age of 95, Betty Schafer of Newton, Iowa, born in Nevada, Missouri passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Manford Hicks and Margaret Hicks (Huff); her husband William M. "Bill" Schafer; and her children, Kathryn Engle and Kenneth Schafer.
She is survived by: her daughter Janet Porter of Baxter; and her grandchildren, Chris Maras (Brad) of North Liberty, Jodi Albertson (Dusty) of Newton, Tami Sundquist (Rob) of Lewisville, Texas, Jay Dee Porter (Tracy) of Colo, Troy Engle of Newton and Kevin Schafer (Jennifer) of Newton. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
