He is survived by: his wife Barbara Cahalan; his children, John Sonka (Sheila) of Ellsworth, IL, Kim McAtee of Cedar Rapids and Jamie Sonka (Miranda) of Newhall; his grandchildren, Tyler, Blake Sonka, Paige Dullea (Brandon), Amanda McAtee, Andrew McAtee, Baily, Lexie and Cole Sonka; and his siblings, Steven Sonka (Karilyn) of Champaign, Carolyn Peiffer of Walford and Melanie Kenney (Tom) of Iowa City.
