He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Karr and Betty Karr (Dowler); his brother David Karr; his parents-in-law, Melvin and Eleanor Webert; his brothers-in-law, Jim Boddicker and Richard Hertle; and his niece Jill Gibson (Karr).
He is survived by: his wife Jo Ann; his children, Debbie Stien (Doug) of Newhall, Brenda Schanbacher (Robert) of Newhall and Mike Karr (Chris) of Newhall; his great grandchild Jake Stien (Katie); his children, Joe, Brody of Watkins, Ryan Stien (Ashley), Luke Stien (Kristin), Jackson, Elsie of Atkins and Ben Schanbacher (Lindsey); his brother Don Karr of Cedar Rapids; his sisters-in-law, Janet Boddicker of Newhall and Judy Hertle of Newhall; and his nephew Steve Nesheim. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
