He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Steger and Gertrude Steger (Lansing); his parents-in-law, Laverne and Germaine Deutmeyer (Engelken); his siblings, Robert Steger, John Steger and Lillian Wessels (James); and his brother-in-law William Bonert.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Ann Deutmeyer; his children, Wayne Steger (Michelle) of Chicago, IL, Amy Gay (Greg) of Oakwood Park, MO, Lon Steger (Jodi) of Des Moines, IA, Rob Steger (Sheri), Carrie Laizure (Tim) of Polk City, IA and Brian Steger (Kelly) of White Heath, IL; his grandchildren, Lydia, Camilla, Lucca Steger, Donovan, Brianna Gay, Neve, Keaton, Ramsey Steger, Gavin, Vivian, Avery Steger, Chloe, Gabriel Laizure, Elijah, Oliver and Elena Steger; his siblings, Patrick Steger (Margery) of Colesburg and Mary Ann Bonert of New Vienna; and his sisters-in-law, Rosemary Nichol of Dyersville and Lillian Steger of Dyersville. He is also survived by numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
