It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Willie Van Weelden of New Sharon, Iowa, born in Oskaloosa, Iowa, who passed away on June 10, 2023, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Sjoerd Henry and Grace Van Weelden (Meppelink); and his brother-in-law Gene Frisby. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Lou Veldhuizen of New Sharon; his friend Jack Goodman; his daughters, Valerie Terpstra (Brendan) of Pella, Jennifer Baham of San Jose, CA and Melissa Bowen (Charlie) of Oskaloosa; his grandchildren, Nathaniel Terpstra (Emily) of Pella, Taylor Terpstra (Abby) of Leighton, Breanna Slotten (Jordan) of Pella, Camille, Erin Baham of San Jose, Amelia, Aubrey, Amara and Declan Bowen of Oskaloosa; his great grandchildren, Clayton, Matthias Terpstra, Tabitha, Boaz Terpstra, Alexa and Orville Slotten; and his sister Donna Frisby of Pella.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Music Program at the Oskaloosa Christian School or the Mahaska County Conservation.
