It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Violet Marie McMains of New Sharon, Iowa, who passed away on November 14, 2021, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Verle Ross and Vern Ross (Redding); her husband Loren "Sparky" McMains; her son-in-law Rod Smith; her great grandchild Mylee Poe; her siblings, Robert Ross, Charles Ross (Linda) and JoAnn Lanphier (Chuck); and her brother-in-law Jack Readshaw.

She is survived by: her daughters, Judy Smith of New Sharon, Connie McNew (Kressie) of Marion, IL and Linda Fisher (Gene) of Iowa Falls; her grandchildren, Lory Hay (Marty) of Sully, Todd Fisher (Joy) of Iowa Falls, Renea McNeely (Randall) of Marion, IL, Amy Poe (Rob) of New Sharon, Robin Ward (Corey) of Marion, IL, Heather Thiesen of Iowa Falls and McKenzie Schoby (Jason) of Iowa Falls; her sister Kay Readshaw of New Sharon; and her sister-in-law Cleora Hartmann of New Sharon. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Sharon Fire and Rescue or to the New Sharon McVay Family Center that will be used for the coffeetime group.
