She was predeceased by: her parents, Lucile Fleming (Sheesley) and Chanley Lee Fleming; her husband Bayard Phillips; her siblings, Katherine Craver, Esther Knowler, Annetta May Klinzman and James Fleming; and her grandson Adam Mark Phillips.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Sharp of New Sharon, Mark (Chris) of Dike, Joel (Tina) of Pasadena, Jennifer Elliott (Richard) of Carson, Luann Swanson (Steve) of Ollie, Julie Maze (George) of Swea City, Chanley (Linda) of Excelsior and John (Kim) of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; her sisters, Gayle Ferguson and Arlene Cassens; and her brother-in-law Kenny Knowler. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be directed to the New Sharon Public Library or North Mahaska Educational Foundation.
