Mike Moothart Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mike Moothart of New Sharon, Iowa, who passed away on December 18, 2024, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Mike shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Mike farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Irwin "Red" Moothart and Wanda Moothart (Maxwell); and his siblings, Steve Moothart and Cynthia. He is survived by: his wife Diane DeGoey of New Sharon; and his children, B. J. Smith of New Sharon, Chris Moothart (Laura) of New Sharon, Tammy Sauer (Kristofer) of New Sharon and Blayne Kool (Casey) of Lovilia. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; along with his sister-in-laws, many other nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lighthouse Church (206 Park Ave, New Sharon, IA 50207). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the American Cancer Society.
