Lavoe O. De Jong Obituary
We are sad to announce that on July 8, 2020, at the age of 93, Lavoe O. De Jong of New Sharon, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harrison VerSteegh and Margaret VerSteegh (Stephens); her husband Paul DeJong; her brother Jim VerSteegh (Helen); and her nephews, Steven VerSteegh, Jeffry VerSteegh and Benjamin.
She is survived by: her sons, Monty DeJong (Linda Specher) of Montezuma, Wavern DeJong (Judy) of Zearing and Norman DeJong (Norma) of Independence; and her grandchildren, Rachelle Stewart (Bob), Lori Blomme (Brian), Kari Vannoy (Terry), Cory DeJong (Holly), Shawn DeJong (Tonya), Wendy DeJong, Jessica Rippel (Mike) and Brandon DeJong (Savanna). She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Sharon United Methodist Church or the Blue Ribbon Foundation at the Iowa State Fair.
