She was predeceased by: her parents, Orin McMains and Amy McMains (Loving); her husband Caleb Hargis; her sons, James "Jim" Hargis and Terry Paige Hargis; and her sisters, Gladys "Irene" Shaw, Luella "Edith" Puffinbarger and Georgia "Opal" Hull.
She is survived by: her children, Elaine Johnston (Charles) of Goshen, Melanie Blunk (Joseph) of Fremont and C. E. Hargis II (Debra) of New Sharon; her daughter-in-law Nancy Hargis of New Sharon; and her grandchildren, Adam Johnston of Williams, Ben Conover (Tara) of Lynnville, Angela Patterson (Patrick) of Walford, Annie Mossman (Brent) of New Sharon, Nick Hargis (Stephanie) of Westcliffe, Abby McDonald (Clint) of Pella, Andy Hargis (Melanie) of New Sharon and Jessica Sanders (Jaroed) of Montezuma. She is also survived by 20 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
