It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Harriett Anne German (New Sharon, Iowa), born in Grinnell, Iowa, who passed away on May 9, 2020, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, A. J. Blakely and Sarah Blakely (McCool); her husband Gerald German; her granddaughters, Tanya Lynn German and Kelly Jo German; and her siblings, Robert Blakely and Virginia Lindsey.
She is survived by: her children, Susan Malone (Charles) of Timnath, CO, Phil German (Darla) of Rhodes, Mark German of Oskaloosa, Dave German (Debi) of New Sharon, Tom German (Vicki) of New Sharon, Carol Gardner (Gary) of Loveland, CO and Reid German (Beth) of Pella. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Due to the restrictions put in place by the Department of Public Health because of the COVID 19 Pandemic, a public visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with no family present.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Sharon Fire and Rescue.
