We are sad to announce that on September 15, 2022, at the age of 98, Esther Marie Thornton of New Sharon, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Koeppen and Mayme Koeppen (Kruble); her former husbands, Jack Smith and Roger Thornton; her children, Rodney Smith, Rickey Smith and Connie Zimmerman; her granddaughter Christina Zimmerman; her great grandchild Mylee Marie Poe; and her brothers, Ray Koeppen and Glenn Koeppen.
She is survived by: her children, Jackie Smith (Donna) of New Sharon, Donnie Smith (Pam) of New Sharon and Cathey Keiser (Rick) of Thompson Square, TN; her grandchildren, Lory Hay, Amy Poe, Marcy Grandia, Jeff Zimmerman, Travis Smith, Steve Smith, Brent Smith and Jill Crane; her great grandchildren, Dalton Hay, Jade Hay, Cole Poe, Jake Poe, Rylee Poe, Trenton Grandia, Chase Grandia, Cain Grandia, Summer Smith, Grant Smith and Logan Smith; and her daughter-in-law Judy Smith of New Sharon.
