She was predeceased by: her parents, Merlin Faas and Lavonn Faas (Cheney); her daughter Cindy Richards; her sister Barbara Thatcher (Bud); and her sister-in-law Pat Faas.
She is survived by: her husband Al Salanitro of New Sharon; her grandchildren, Dustin Richards of Ames and Desiree Richards of Arlington, TX; her sons, Carey Smith and Kevin Wright (Deana); and her brother Larry (Kay).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to help take care of Elaine's dog, Daisy, and may be made in the family's name to create the memorial.
