He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Berthel and Henrietta Lee Simmons Hennessee; and his sisters, Joann and Carol. He is survived by: his granddaughters, Annie Pence (Josh) of Red Oak and Kaity Bench of Danville; his great grandchildren, Kaidyn and Makenzie; his sister Connie Tarrence of New London; his nieces and nephews, Mike Raines, Jodi Jackson, Jana Fallon, Ken Bunkley and Mike Bunkley; and his pet Otis. He is also survived by her children and grandchildren.
A memorial has been established for the New London High School Industrial Technology class.
