She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph DeSpain and Maxine DeSpain (McClure); and her brother-in-law Gerald Hopson. She is survived by: her former husband Michael Miley; her sons, Jeffrey Miley (Lauren Reeves) of Chicago and Jason Miley (Jessica); her granddaughter Cassandra of Downers Grove, IL; her sisters, Sonja Hopson of New London, IA and Rita Smith (Charles) of Marshalltown, IA; her niece Jana Madsen (Chris) of Marion, IA; and her nephews, Kevin, Kurt Hopson (Kelly) of New London, IA, Brad Smith (Andrea) of Ft. Collins, CO and Greg Smith (Traci) of Urbandale, IA. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews and cousins.
Memorials have been established for St. Jude, PAWS (the Anti-cruelty Society for animals), and the American Cancer Society.
