He was predeceased by: his parents, George and Sena Gersema (Reints); his wife Viola "Vi" Davis; his siblings, John, Hank, Raymond, Joe and Hannah; his daughter-in-law Hattie Gersema; and his grandson Bryan Gersema.
He is survived by: his children, Chris E. Gersema Jr. of Marshalltown, Vicky Smith (Bob Sykes) of Pittsfield, Sheryl Faas (Duane) of Ames, Rose A. Davis of Gardner, Duane Gersema (Carol) of Leavenworth and Scott Gersema (Gretchen) of Lee's Summit.
