She was predeceased by: her parents, Jay and Bena (Stickfort) of Neui; her husband Elmer Leo Ballhagen; her sister Pauline Van Mill (Richard); and her brother-in-law Don Decker.
She is survived by: her children, David of Bradenton, Wesley Ballhagen (Sherri) of Shell Rock and Mary Dempster (Gary) of Elkader; her grandchildren, Loren Dempster (Becky), Brad Dempster (Jeannie), Laura Elliott (Anthony), Jacee Frost (Kyle), Jamison Orth (Emily) and Justice Ballhagen; and her sisters, Lenora Decker of Waterloo and Joan Wessels (Duane) of Waterloo. She is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren.
