He was predeceased by: his parents, Archibald "Archie" and Helen Schilling (Hassman); his granddaughter Brandy Schilling; his daughter-in-law Peg Schilling; and his sister Shirley Fuerstenberg.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Gebel of New Hampton; his children, Bob Schilling (Elmarie) of Waterloo, IA, Bill Schilling of Ionia, IA, Brian Schilling (Patrice) of New Hampton, Brenda Ponto (Tony) of Waverly, IA and Barb Devaney (Tom) of Anamosa, IA; his siblings, Roger Schilling (Karen) of Cumming, GA and Marilyn Meissen of Ankeny, IA; and his brother-in-law Charlie Gebel (June) of New Hampton. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
