He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann of New Hampton, IA; his children, Brian Heit of Van Horne, IA, Steve Heit (Ramona) of Newhall, IA, Carolyn Mitchell (Todd) of Center Point, IA and Michelle Bunn (Scott) of Mason City, IA; and his siblings, Melvin Heit (Jeanette) of New Hampton, IA, Gerald Heit (Jeanne) of New Hampton, IA and Maxine Shekleton (Chuck) of Farmersburg, IA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
