He was predeceased by: his siblings, Rosella Kerkove (Jack), Francis Wisher (Claude) and Greg Tilkes (Elaine); and his in-laws, Geraldine Tilkes, Leo Franzen, Joe Whalen, Jack Chapman and Oscar Roethler (Mildred).
He is survived by: his wife Connie; his daughters, Micki Denner (Steve) of Waverly, Tammy Joebgen (Mike) of North Washington, Denise Vahle (Brian) of Ankeny and Dawn Anderson (Jason Erdahl) of New Hampton; his siblings, Vince Tilkes of California, Jane Lynch (Gene) of Lawler, Laurine Whalen of New Hampton and Darlene Franzen of New Hampton; and his siblings-in-law, Glen Roethler (Betty) of Owatonna, MN, Nancy Wegner (Leon) of New Hampton and Joyce Wurzer (Al) of Waucoma. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory (101 W Main St, New Hampton, IA 50659). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (114 N Wapsi St, North Washington, IA 50661).
