She was predeceased by: her parents, Margaret Messer (Schneider) and Gustav Carl Messer; her daughter Joni Lynn Harpel; her husband Vernon Erickson; her siblings, DeNola Pearre (Ed), Barbara Smith (Al), Evangeline "Pat" Williams (Bob), Bob Messer (June), Anna Shea (Bill), Donna Messer and Gordon "Swede" Messer; her brother-in-law Dean Stark; and her pet Katie.
She is survived by: her former spouse Lou Harpel; her children, Lee Harpel, Lon Harpel and Holly Palo (Reed); her grandson Max Winebrenner-Palo (Chris); her siblings, Joan Stark and Roger "Butch" Messer (Carol); and her friend Sonny Dovenmuehler.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 17th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Bertha Community Center (205 2nd Ave NW, Bertha, MN 56437).
