He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Senior and Helen Jirak (Kunt); his daughters, Joyce Uhlenhake and Jane Gilb; and his siblings, Vernelle (Roy Schmitt) and Edward Junior.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Riha of Fort Atkinson, IA; his children, Jerome (Gayle) of Waucoma, IA, Joan Bakley (Alvin) of Tuthill, SD and Janet Bodensteiner (Mel) of West Union, IA; his sons-in-law, Richard Uhlenhake (Colleen) of Ossian, IA and Roger Gilb (Jan) of Lakeville, MN; and his sister-in-law Helen Jirak of St Lucas, IA.. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
