He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Norman Brinkman and Mildred Kimberley Brinkman of Colo, IA.; his son John Newton Brinkman; his siblings, Dr. John Brinkman and Mary Jane Harms; and his brother-in-law Dr. Dean Harms.
He is survived by: his daughter Kimberley Sue of Bethesda, MD; his wife Janet Sue Newton; his daughter Susan Chapla (Barry) of Arvada, CO; his grandchildren, Maya Sue Caceres, Braeden John and Justin Chapla (Alex); and his great grandchild Charlie Jo. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, Nevada First United Methodist Church and Nevada Parks and Recreation-Harold Brinkman Memorial.
