He was predeceased by: his parents, Christian Fischer and Anastasia Fischer (Ryan); his wife Jean Zimmerman; his son David Joseph Fischer; his daughter-in-law Melissa; and his siblings, Frank, Bob, Rev. Eugene Fischer and Virginia Simon.
He is survived by: his children, Kay Lee of Lexington, KY, Tim of Neola, IA, Steve (Jyl Dinville), Jan Bertelsen (Allan), Tom (Nancy), Ken of Mission, KS, Dale (Jody), Matt (Julie) and Eric (Alex); his siblings, Don (Margaret), Harold (Hirako) and Mary C. Schnitker; and his sister-in-law Emma Fischer. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren.
