He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph H. Wellman and Blanche Wellman (Fisher); his children, Martha Mary, Joseph G. and Norman J. Wellman; and his brother Robert Wellman.
He is survived by: his wife Marian Wellman of Neola; his children, Joan Kloewer (James) of Avoca, Iowa, Paul Wellman (Debra) of Minneapolis, Alan Wellman (Stacy) of Council Bluffs and Raymond Wellman (Stacy) of Bellevue, Nebraska; his grandchildren, Samantha, Cole, Makenzie, Joslyn, Mitchell, Logan, Violet and Haley; and his siblings, Judy Chapin (Stan) of Council Bluffs and Jon Wellman (Diana) of Minden, Iowa. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
