He was predeceased by: his parents, Winfield Jesse and Vurna Avis Norman (Butcher); his siblings, Cleo (Darlyne Norman), Veletta (Vaughn Crees), James Norman, Leona (William Vandermey), Ann (Darrell Hoffman), Naomi (Milford Graham) and Nevelee Hampton; his sister-in-law Shirley Norman; and his brothers, Jesse Norman of Des Moines, Mickey (Delores Norman) and Lonnie (Valorie Norman).

He is survived by: his wife Helen Mae Hembry of Decatur, Iowa; his sons, Allen (Debbie Norman), Arnold (Shari Norman) and Arron Norman of Blair, Nebraska; his grandchildren, Trenton (Ashley Norman), Cassie (Brendan Witt), Ryan (Jessica Norman), Tyler (Lacy Norman), Kyle (Nichole Norman), Barron Norman and Jessica Norman; his great grandchildren, Connor, Reagan, Benjamin, Riley, Chloe, Tiras, Korie, Tytan, Ellie, Asher, Kynzer and Henlee; and his brother-in-law Robert Hampton of Decatur. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
