He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Thran and Loueen Diekmann Thran; his siblings, Richard and Carol; and his nephew Jon Tomson.
He is survived by: his sons, Eric of Des Moines and Tony of Nashua; his granddaughter Jessica Pfitzer; his great grandchildren, Julia and Josiah; and his nephews, Mark, David and Mike (Jennifer Tomson).
