He was predeceased by: his wife Janice; his parents, Leo Birch (Elsie Haus) and Anna Beener Birch; and his in-laws, Roger, Dorothy Burnett, Sylvia, Gordon Silber and Linda Burnett.
He is survived by: his children, Jackie (John) of Plainfield, IA, Julie of Magna, UT, Joe (Sue) and Jill (Tim); his grandchildren, Cathy, Andy Hoggins, Carly, Kelly Mehmen (Ryan), Jenny, Alex Haus, Josh (Hannah), Jake and Jared Jones (Katie); his great grandchildren, Noah Hoggins and Crew Jones; his in-laws, Wilda, Charlie Albrecht, Dennis and Diane Burnett; and also Raim.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hugeback & Johnson Funeral Home - Nashua (319 Main St, Nashua, IA 50658). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Michael's Catholic Church - Nashua (602 Cedar St, Nashua, IA 50658). A graveside service was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 12:45 PM at the St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery (55 Cemetery Road, Nashua, IA).
