She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Leo Abbott and Ruth Pauline Gipple Abbott; her grandparents, Flora Mae Marks Abbott, Isaac Spencer Abbott, Ethel Huston Gipple and Vernon Edward Gipple; her husband Douglas V. Walton; and her sister Janette J. Abbott Owens.
She is survived by: her sons, D. Kyle Walton (Deborah L. Walton) of Iowa City, IA and W. Scott Chamberlin (Christina M. Chamberlin) of Riverside, IA.; her grandchildren, Francesca I. Walton Nugent (Michael) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Parker S. Chamberlin of Iowa City, IA and Alexandra G. Walton Johnson (Cameron) of Valparaiso, IN.; her sister Alice M. Coleman (Larry) of Mount Pleasant, IA; and her brother-in-law David F. Owens of Ainsworth, IA. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Lutheran Living Senior Campus of Muscatine, in memory of Virginia Chamberlin.
